Spartans Ballarat:
Located at 502 Howitt Street Ballarat, Spartans Gym and Fitness Arena is Ballarat’s most extensively equipped Gym. Consisting of two main gym spaces Spartans offers members everything that they need. The Main Gym area focuses mainly on free weights and Pin/Plate loaded machines, where individuals can use a vast variety of equipment to work every part of their body.

The Front Gym, the Fitness Arena main focus is ease of use, which is ideal for beginners, where all machines are pin loaded, and the free weights are lighter than that of the main gym. Other Additional Extras that members and the general public can use in the Gym are Solarium and Sauna (both male and female) facilities.

We offer a full health assessments for gym beginners. Their fitness level is used as a basis for a fitness-training programme. Your personal trainer will demonstrate all the exercises contained in your program during an induction session, which is followed up with regular program updates and reassessments. Additional fitness assessments will enable you to see the results of your effort in the gym so that you can see your fitness level improving all the time.

Strength Training
Strength training is exercise that uses resistance for example, weights to strengthen and condition the muscular-skeletal system, improving muscle tone and endurance. The benefits of strength training are many and have a great influence on our physical performance, metabolic efficiency, physical appearance, and risk of injury.

Weight Management
Decades of research have shown that diets, both self-initiated and professionally led, are ineffective at producing long-term health and weight (fat) loss. Spartans Gym & Fitness offers a much safer, more effective approach and will show you how to take the frustration, guilt, and deprivation out of weight management, allowing you to adopt gradual, realistic changes into your life that will make healthy eating and physical activity a permanent pleasure.


Cardiovascular Exercise
The terms cardiovascular exercise, cardio respiratory fitness, and aerobic exercise are synonymous and the centerpiece of physical fitness, weight management, and cardio respiratory (heart and lung) health. Flexibility Training
Flexibility is a joint's ability to move through a full range of motion; flexibility training (stretching) helps balance muscle groups that might be overused during exercise or physical activity, or as a result of bad posture.
